1. Dress Code
Research the company's culture and dress one level above. For example, if you are interviewing at an extremely corporate company, wear a suit. If you are interviewing with a more casual company, wear a nice collared shirt or blouse.

Lighting is the most important element of looking professional in an interview. Make sure you are well lit and your lighting matches the ambiance of your room. We created our Video Conference Lighting Kit and Broadcast Lighting Kit to have a bi-color and adjustable brightness option to ensure that you would be able to get the perfect color and brightness for every situation.
3. Test Your Technology
There is nothing worse than being late to your interview because your having technical difficulties. Make sure to call your mom or a friend to test your audio, lighting and see how your background looks before your interview.
4. Eye Contact
Eye contact can get difficult on a virtual call because of the placement of the screen versus the camera. Make sure to look into the camera when you are speaking and not at the screen. If you have a dual screen, put your video call screen close to your webcam to maintain as much eye contact as possible.
5. Wait Your Turn
Lags in audio are common on video calls and can cause some awkward moments of not knowing who is supposed to finish speaking. Let your interviewer fully finish their sentences before speaking to avoid the lag time.
6. Find a Quiet Environment
Finding a quiet, non-interrupted space can be hard right now if you have 3 roommates or bothersome siblings. But, kindly give your family and housemates a heads up before you go live on your interview that you need 20-30 minutes of no interruption.
